A leisurely afternoon tea session with SG Care volunteers on 1st October 2011

Time flies and we are in the last few months of the year before the other major celebrations kick in, and we have decided to have a simple birthday celebration for October......

The menu of the week: chocolate birthday cake & chwee kueh from Bedok Hawker Center

Turnips & sambal chilli are the best companions to go with the smooth delicacy.

We are so glad that Swee Ling is out and about volunteering at All Saints after taking a good rest =)

Food glorious food..... Instead of 3-in-1 coffee served on usual months, we went on the traditional route this week by introducing the coffee powder variant that requires sieving by the "sock"....

New volunteers from SG Cares interacting with the residents and ensuring they are well fed during the afternoon tea.

Birthday celebration starts, and we are fortunate to have 1 resident & 2 volunteers celebrating with us.

Bingo Game enhanced by the hard work of Kee Teck - no more ambiguity on the numbers called.

Residents can only win once in fairness to less lucky ones.

Monitoring of the numbers called

First winner of the Ultimate Prize this week - when all the numbers on your card were called out.

Volunteer Guitar Connection (VGC) paid us a visit too! VGC recruits fresh volunteers without any guitar playing skills, "grill" them to perfection, and deploy them to various elderly homes to showcase their performance....

A big thanks to all who were present, and made this Saturday afternoon tea a relaxing affair.

Volunteers caught up in the balloon fever - and churned out various shades of Pink Panthers......
