Mid Autumn Festival - 10 Sep 2011

Mid Autumn Festival is a period for family and friends to gather & share their happiness over moon cake. We were fortunate that Faith Community Baptist Church took time and effort to spend a whole afternoon with the residents, bringing them joy and laughter. Besides, moon cakes, light snacks & beverages were sponsored by the group too =)

Since this is the beginning of the month, we celebrated the birthday for residents and volunteers born in the month of September at one go.

Angeline rushing to serve tea for the residents.....

Food & beverage station - the busy engine room for the day. Do not underestimate the effort here because there was a large group of 40-50 residents to be served concurrently.

Our residents reaching the dining hall waiting to be served.

Young volunteers joined in to help distributing food to the residents too.

The largest birthday cake of the year topped with generous mangoes.

Our east-west fusion dessert - moon cake & birthday cake

After the bellies were filled, Faith Community Baptist Church and Volunteer Guitar Connection performed English and Chinese oldies respectively to the audience.

Group photo - a big thanks again to the group in making this event a memorable one.

ESN Carnival - 3rd September 2011

All Saints Tampines participated in the Elderly Sector Network (ESN) Carnival, and we offered 2 stalls - Cone Ring Game & Fishing Game. Our performing group involving 2 residents and 5 volunteers eventually won the consolation prize after much hard work - led by our ever energetic Rae.

This innovative "fish pond" were fully designed by Mosaic Ministry, an external volunteering group that frequently joins our weekly service. This concept successfully attracted much attention from the crowd on the day.

Equally addictive is the Cone & Ring Game, we had seen residents playing 4 rounds just to clinch the ever elusive top prize.

Our sister home - All Saints Hougang

The event started off with the lion dance performance till our ear drums are "blasted". A great way to wake every one up!

There were 2 sessions for the carnival - morning & afternoon. Each session accomodated 200+ residents.
