Riding the Hippo along Orchard Road - A pictorial

On 24th November, the residents and volunteers travelled to downtown Orchard on a hippo bus to enjoy the Christmas lightings and decors.

It's not just a sight seeing trip as we have a group of musically inclined volunteers to cheer up the ride with Xmas Caroling.

Let's the photos do the talking for this trip!

Senior Citizen Week cum Volunteer Appreciation - 10th Nov 2012

Senior Citizen Week cum Volunteer Appreciation party was held on 10th November 2012.
We were also blessed with new volunteer T-shirts courtesy of TheCheeseShaker.com, a company specializing in professional creative printing services.

Rae gracefully volunteered to be the model for our new T-shirt. If you volunteer regularly, you will be given one, so drop by more often =)

This event was fully organized by the Home Management to residents and volunteers to have a great time to reflect on the things we have done for the past one year, to showcase the talents of our residents plus recognizing frequent volunteers with All Saints.

The Home Management & Caretakers never fail to decorate the chapel whenever we embrace major celebrations, and Senior Citizen week is no exception. Lots of hard work was put into this event by the Home, from performances planning, bringing in special guests, event coordination and food & beverages prep.

Residents with various talents ranging from hip hop dancing, singing, and traditional dancing all volunteered for the performances during this celebration, to showcase their talents before a big crowd. I salute them for their courage and persistence during their practice sessions.

All volunteers donned in the signature Red T =)

A big thanks to all volunteers who've been us through the years. They really deserve a pat on their back for their commitment and unwavering support. The Home was very kind to offer a little appreciation certificate and voucher for them....

Unfortunately, our Chairlady Carolyn could not attend this important event as she had an equally important function to attend for the day.... For those who do not know this all capable girl.... Here's her mugshot =) The volunteering group owed the success of all these years to her.

Next, introducing Jiahao...... He's the longest serving volunteer cum guitarist with All Saints since year 2005, a good 7 years of weekends!

Kee Teck is always full of ideas when it comes to events planning, designing the various games, props that we use regular during mass games and befriending with the residents.

Xing - yours truly

Benny, Mr Charming Volunteer.
His cheerful disposition never fail to bring smiles to residents and volunteers =)

Esther - the most motherly volunteer of all who took care of welfare of everybody.

Wooi Cheng - always cheerful, observing the needs of all residents and addresses them.

Rae - super events planning girl full of youthful energy. Besides her excellent singing and dancing, she planned various trips and carnivals for residents.

Lionel - full time uni student but still visits All Saints on a frequent basis to assist in various activities....

Mohan - great pillar of support to residents and volunteers.

Belinda - Witty and always popular with residents during befriending sessions.

Introducing Mosaic Ministry Members below. Energetic, caring, talented, and cohesive. They are part of our volunteering family. Countless performances and events were organized by them to cheer up the residents.

After the volunteer's appreciation by the Home Mgmt, the performing residents gave their best shot on stage to entertain those who are present.

The costumes were all tastefully designed by caretakers of the Home using mostly common household items...
