Sing-along-seesion

haha...on the previous sat, me,jiahao,sharon and meng kwee came for the visitng..erics came but he went back earlier coz he got sth on..and as for sze li,she said she was having a flu tt day,so she could make it to.. u ok ma,sze li??? take care ar gal..haha.. anyway, as usual we ard the wards to visit some of the old folks..however, i realsied thatmost of them actualy took an afternoon nap at that period of time...wah!!! such a coincident!! it's okie...nxt time i can just visit them again...haha..me and sharon took the balls from the first level and played wif some of the old folks who were sitting at the corridors waiting for their dinner..haha..rather tiring for me.but for some of them they din feel it the same well as i do, and were actually enjoying the ball game..wah!! they ain't wad u tink k..they really strong and energetic!! haha.. tink i better go train my muscles..nxt time will have more strength to compete wif them le!! ahha...JIAYOU~~ oh..later came jiahao and meng hwee..haha..we all combined power and held an outdoor mobile "concert". proudly presented by me,sharon,jiahao and meng hwee!! haha...we sang quite a no. of songs(guess repeated ones) but den couldnt sing it well...of course not coz we dun have wonderful vocal cords, it's juz that we DUNNO HOW TO SING!! haha..so ended up we all depended on meng hwee most of the time..haha.. hope tht the old folks dun mind...but we made our promised to them that the nxt time when we come, we will be definitely so much better den the previous time le!! HURRAY~~~ anywy, we need not worry abt the limited songs for our sing-along-session. coz i itnk moral home has compiled a THICK booklet of songs for us. OH MAN!!! thay are really nice... THANKS!!! haha... ya..so we juz have to learn those songs form there and sing to the kind and high tolerance old folks who appreciate our weekly outdoor "concert". haha..yeah...anyway, this coming week, we might be carrying out our handicraft session...so do come down wif ya frens to join us..coz confirm plus chop there will be lots and lots and lots of FUN~~~~ ahhhaha!! kk...shall stop here for now...crap too much i itnk..cya guys!!!

our very first handicraft at ASH!!

wahaha....cool...our very own BLOG~~ so guys!! dun hesitate!! start blogging k!! so, Ms Tan Wei Ni aka ssaint shall start the ball rolling man!! wahha..yesterday we had our very first handicraft with the old folks. hmm...it was rather fun and PISSING! coz i realised my art and craft skill is deteroriating..gotta work on it man..haha.. anyway we helped some of the old folks down to the canteen to join all our volunteers in making our very own A.S.H cards. all of them did a very good job!!!haha... but seriously if u were there, tink u would be able to tell that they really put in effort to make the cards even they had much problems in controlling their hands. that's really touching... oh...u noe wad? during the session, i had "successfully "made one card for one of the old folks. haha..my art skill is not good la...so u shld noe that my card confirm wasnt that fantastic at all...but aiya can passed la..haha..coz she din wanna come down to join us in the art and craft session,so after finished making the card i went to her ward and gave it to her. she looked really happy and really appreciated my "wonderful and artistic" card. so we talked and joke for awhile b4 i made a move down to the library.at that very moment, i felt a sudden sense of satisfaction. felt that all these was really worth doing. i would say that volunteering is really meaningful..haha..but i have regretted...i have regretted that i din realise it earlier and started it a few years ago..but still,come to tink abt it, if not coz i have realised it later, i wouldnt have met all the cool volunteers in A.S.H. haha!!! lastly,if one day someone come up to me and ask when i will stop volunteering, i tink i would tell him or her that...."I dunno..."

About All Saints Home -Tampines

Located at 11 Tampines Street 44, All Saints Home is a voluntary welfare organization operated by All Saints Memorial Chapel (S) Ltd. It is licensed by , and receive subsidies from the Ministry of Health besides being affiliated to the National Council of Social Service.

Basically, it provides 3 different types of services namely; Residential care, Respite care and Rehabilitative service.

Residential Care

All Saints Home offers a professional and caring service dedicated to serve the elderly of every race and religion. It has a team of professionals healthcare staff of medical, nursing,occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietitian and other support services. It also provides social, emotional and spiritual needs of residents.

Respite Care

Short-term residential care to relieve family member and caregivers who need a break.

Rehabilitative Service

All Saints Home also provides Physiotherapy from which the primary goal is to assist the elderly who are physically challenged to maximize independence and improve mobility, self-care and other functional skills necessary for daily living.

Chinese New Year Celebration- 4 Feb 06

Just to update you all on the latest All Saints Home development. The All Saints volunteers like Esther, Michelle, JiaHao, Sharon, Tian Chi and Wei Ni participated in the game too like the "Up, up, down, down" which the seniors enjoyed thoroughly.

We have two really excellent mc like WeiNi and Tian Chi.
After the rousing performance by the All Saints staff and Christian groups, we had sumptious finger-food like chicken sticks, tarts and fried dumpling and many more. Special thanks to the All The Saints Home for the great buffet.

Do hope to see more volunteers joining us. Coming up next on 18 Feb, there will be handicraft session. I will be making cards using the stencil. It is a simple handicraft session which the seniors will enjoy and it is quite simple. Anyway, if you have any good idea, do share with us on how we can further improve on the handicraft sessions or any new program which will bring happiness to the seniors.
